With Bryant Jennings and his team deciding to bypass an opportunity to face Luis Ortiz on the Golovkin-Lemieux pay-per-view undercard on October 17th at the Madison Square Garden in New York, his promoter Gary Shaw is now focused on another fight for his heavyweight.

"We'd love to fight (Deontay) Wilder, even in December," said Shaw, of the reigning WBC belt-holder, who is scheduled for his second title defense on September 26th.

"We think that would be a great fight between two American heavyweights fighting for a world title."

On the night of April 25th at MSG, Jennings (19-1, 10 KO's) put up a game effort in going the distance against the recognized heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko. Wilder (34-0, 33 KO's), stopped Eric Molina in nine rounds on June 13th in front of his hometown fans in Birmingham, Alabama.

Wilder is advised by Al Haymon, which Shaw says will not be a hindrance in making this fight a reality.

"I believe I can make a deal with Al Haymon, I could live with him, no problem. I can work with him, I can work with Lou DiBella, I can work with Tom Brown, with anybody. I don't have trouble working with anyone," said the veteran promoter.
