Grand Oasis Arena, Cancun, Mexico - Getting his first victory since a 2009 TKO over Antonio Margarito, former three division world champion (47-8-1, 39KOs), 41-years-old, won a twelve round unanimous decision over Pablo Cesar Cano (26-3-1, 20KOs). All three judges saw it 115-113. It was Mosley's first fight since last May's decision loss to 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

After five competitive rounds where Cano seemed to have the edge, Mosley let his hands go in the sixth and changed the tempo of the fight with several hard shots to get Cano on unsteady legs. Cano fired back in the ninth, where he stunned Mosley with several hard punches, but the veteran battled back. Mosley came back with big shots in the tenth and had Cano holding on. A shot by Cano in the eleventh knocked out Mosley's mouthpiece, but the veteran controlled the pace until the final bell.

Top rated WBC super featherweight contender Sergio Thompson (27-2, 25KOs) stayed busy with a fourth round knockout of Gustavo Sandoval (13-5-1, 11KOs). It was bombs away and could have finished in the first as Sergio plastered the Colombian with crunching body shots and blockbusters to the head. By the second, Sandoval who appeared shellshocked, was puffing hard and blinking from the blistering attack. Bravely trying to fight and trade at the beginning of the fourth was his undoing. Sergio got him in a corner and savaged him with blows which sounded as painful as they must have felt. Sandoval fell poleaxed and barely conscious. The time of the tko massacre was one minute and forty secondsPromoter Pepe Gomez is pledging to bring Champion Takashi Miura to Cancun on August fifteenth for a slugfest.

Junior welterweight Ivan Cano (21-6, 14KOs) the brother of Pablo Cesar was disqualified in  the seventh round of an eight rounder against Daniel Ruiz (29-6-1, 20KOs). A rugged hard hitting fight was marred by fouls. The referee had deducted four points from Ivan, but another low blow brought disqualification at two minutes and eighteen seconds.

Tall pencil slim Roberto Mananarez, used a long reach to pick off Oscar Arenas for a TKO in the third to win the vacant WBC junior intercontinental lightweight title. A huge right to the head staggered Oscar in the first round, bucking his knees.  A right to the ribs dropped him in the second and a follow up flurry broke his nose. Oscar was dropped again in the third and the ring doctor would not let the blood spattered fighter continue. It was stopped at one minute and seventeen seconds.

Adan Mares (9-0, 3KOs), brother of Abner won a unanimous six round decision against local Alberto Cupido (7-9, 6KOs). Adan who is undefeated in eight fights, as a featherweight, chalked up a ninth, with crisp left leads, fast combinations and body punches to justify his nickname of Speedy. He gave Cupido a torrid fourth round. But took his foot off the gas in the final sixth round when Cupido rallied to catch him with some crude but effective rights to the head.

WBC junior flyweight champion Yesenia Gomez (6-2, 3KOs) defended her title with a windmill of punches against outgunned Blanca Diaz (0-3). Yesenia never let up, pounding Blanca to the body and trapping her on the ropes. The Referee saved Blanca after one minute forty eight of the opening round.
