Shabaz Masoud made quick work of a former title challenger.

The unbeaten British junior featherweight prospect effortlessly turned away France’s Yoan Boyeaux, going on the offensive for six straight minutes before forcing a stoppage after two rounds Friday at Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Dubai. Masoud had Boyeaux hurt on several occasions, with the fight brought to an end prior to the start of round three.

The pre-fight build up included Masoud (10-0, 3KOs) stressing his intentions to take out Boyeaux (43-7, 26KOs) in quicker fashion than was the case in the Frenchman’s failed title challenge of Naoya Inoue in December 2017. Inoue needed just three rounds to stop Boyeaux in the final fight of his junior bantamweight title reign, with the Frenchman having just four times since then and at various weights.

Masoud—trained by Ben Davison—accomplished his mission, not showing any respect for Boyeaux as he unloaded with power shots. Boyeaux was rocked midway through round two, avoiding an official knockdown after holding Masoud to the point of the two tumbling to the canvas.

After two lopsided rounds, it was determined that Boyeaux was done for the night. Not normally known for his power, Masoud now has two stoppage wins in his last three fights.

The bout opened a four-fight televised Probellum card, which aired live on Fubo Sports Network in the U.S. Headlining the show, France’s 2016 Olympic Gold medalist and current IBO lightweight titlist Estelle Mossely (9-0, 1KO) defends her crown versus Argentina’s Yanina del Carmen Lescano (10-1, 2KOs) in the first ever female title fight main event to take place in the Middle East.

On the non-televised portion of the show, 6’7” Uzbek heavyweight Bakhodir Jalolov (10-0, 10KOs)—a two-time Olympian who won a Gold medal in last summer’s Tokyo Olympics—picked up a fifth-round stoppage of Polish journeyman Kamil Sokolowski (11-26-2, 4KOs). Jalolov scored knockdowns in rounds two and five, the latter producing a stoppage without a count despite being met with an immediate protest by Sokolowski.
