Another win, another knockout for the explosive and talented Serhii Bohachuk.

The junior middleweight prospect remained unbeaten Tuesday night, knockout out veteran Ronald Montes in the opening round at The Avalon in Hollywood, California.

Bohachuk wasted little time going on the offensive against the fighter from Colombia. Bohachuk, who is originally from the Ukraine and now resides in Big Bear Lake, California, closed the distance, looking to follow up behind measured jabs.

About midway through the round, Bohachuk landed a left hook to the head of Montes, dropping him to the canvas. Montes remained on the canvas as referee Eddie Hernandez counted him out at 1:50.

Bohachuk, who is trained by Abel Sanchez, improves to 11-0, 11 KOs. Tuesday night marked the fifth fight of 2018 for the 23-year-old Bohachuk.

Montes, who resides in Barranquilla, Colombia, drops to 18-11, 16 KOs.

The fight headlined a seven-bout 'Hollywood Fight Nights' card that was promoted by 360 Promotions.

In the co-feature, middleweight Jonathan Esquivel dropped Rowdy Legend Montgomery in round two, but had to hold off a late rally by Montgomery to win a close six-round unanimous decision.

Esquivel dropped Montgomery with a barrage of punches in a corner in round two. The southpaw Esquivel outboxed Montgomery in round three and looked like he was going to cruise to a victory.

Montgomery began closing the distance in round four, walking Esquivel down and connecting with several hooks and crosses to the head. Esquivel looked tired in rounds five and six as Montgomery continued to connect with several punches.

Both fighters had their moments in the final minute of round six as both seemed to think the fight was in the balance. Scores 59-54, 59-54, and 58-55 for Esquivel, who goes to 8-0, 7 KOs.

Montgomery drops to 5-2-1, 4 KOs.

Junior featherweight Humberto Rubalcava (9-0, 6 KOs) of nearby Orange won a hard-fought six round unanimous decision over Mexico's Roberto Pucheta.

After getting outboxed throughout round two, Rubalcava dropped Pucheta with a counter left hook to the head at the end of the round. Pucheta was able to survive the round.

Pucheta (10-15-1, 6 KOs) was crafty and connected, but Rubalcava was the more-polished fighter of the two, connecting with several combinations to the head. Rubalcava was cut over his right eye from an accidental clash of heads in round five, but his corner did an excellent job in stopping the blood from coming out of the cut.

Scores were 58-55, 58-55, and 60-53 for Rubalcava, who had not fought since Feb. 15.

Junior lightweight Adrian Corona dropped Gabriel Serrano (0-2) in the third round en route to a four round unanimous decision. Scores were 39-36, 39-36, and 40-35 in favor of Corona, who improves to 2-0.

Corona is the son of California referee and judge Ray Corona.

Welterweight Devon Lee scored a highlight-reel one-punch knockout victory over Kenny Brrown, who was making his pro debut.

Lee (6-0, 6 KOs) dropped Brown with a right cross to the head. Brown beat the count, but staggered when he was told to step forward, prompting referee Sharon Sands to stop the fight.

Cruiserweight Marco Deckman (2-0, 1 KO), who is trained by Freddie Roach, knocked out Jose Jesus Hurtado (5-10, 5 KOs) in the second round. A left hook to the body dropped Hurtado to one knee against the ropes, where referee Eddie Hernandez counted Hurtado out at 33 seconds.

Junior lightweight Teodoro Alonso won a one-sided four round decision over Jaime Miranda (2-3, 2 KOs). All three judges scored the bout 40-36 in favor of Alonso, who improves to 1-2.
