In what is the true definition of a crossroads battle, former WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora, 37, will collide in the ring with Alfredo Angulo, 35, in an eight round fight on April 7 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The contest, which is going to pit ex-sparring partners against each other, will take place at the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds - as part of the non-televised portion of Showtime's televised card.

The April event is headlined by a junior middleweight unification between IBF champion Jarrett Hurd (21-0, 15 KOs) and WBA, IBO champion Erislandy Lara (25-2-2, 14 KOs).

Mora (28-5-2, 9 KOs) has been out of the ring since dropping back to back fights, both by stoppage, at the hands of Daniel Jacobs.

In the rematch, and Mora's last appearance in the ring, he was stopped by Jacobs in the seventh round in September 2016.

Angulo (24-6, 20 KOs), who lost four of his last six fights, has been out of the ring since losing an upset decision to Freddy Hernandez in August 2016.

There were on and off discussions for Angulo to return to the ring against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a planned fight last year, and then earlier this year, but the contest never came off with Angulo accusing Chavez Jr. for backing out of the fight.

Besides the main event of Lara-Hurd, there will also be two other televised contests. In the co-feature, IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Truax (29-3-2, 18 KOs) will make the first defense of his belt in a rematch with Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (23-2-1, 14 KOs).

Last December, Truax traveled to London and pulled off what many felt was the 'Upset of The Year' when he secured a majority decision win over DeGale to capture the belt. Some oddsmakers in the UK had Truax listed as a 100-1 underdog.

Junior middleweight Julian Williams (24-1-1, 15 KOs) will open up the televised card in a world title eliminator against Nathaniel Gallimore (20-1-1, 17 KOs).
