Former two division world champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez has finalized a new date for his next ring return.

Martinez will be back on December 19 for the second fight of his comeback to the sport of boxing.

The veteran boxer will face Finnish contender Jussi Koivula, over ten round distance, in the middleweight division.

The originally scheduled date for the event was December 5, but at the end of last month a decision was made to postpone the card due to the health situation caused by the outbreak of COVID-19 in Europe.

What wasn't modified was the location of the event, which will be the Severino Prieto bowling stadium, in the Spanish municipality of Torrelavega, in Cantabria, with a capacity for 2,000 people although it is not confirmed if there will be an actual audience.

The Argentine star, a former WBC super welterweight world champion and WBC,WBO middleweight champion, returned to the sport on August 21, and he defeated Spanish boxer Jose Fandino by technical knockout in seven rounds, also in Torrelavega but at El Malecón.

Martinez, 45-years-old, has a record of 52 wins (29 KOs), 3 losses and 2 draws, while Koivula, 36 years old, has a record of 24-7-1 with 9 KOs.

The comeback of Murata points to a title fight with Japanese superstar Ryota Murata, the WBA "regular" middleweight champion, an organization in which "Maravilla" is ranked in the number five position.
