Middleweight Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez is not worried about the anonymous threats that he recently received in Oxnard, California - where the boxer is holding his training camp for the showdown with WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on September 15 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

There was some vandalism and several threats that were made, but Martinez was unable to explain the exact details of the situation.

"On the recommendation of my lawyer, I'm forbidden to discuss the incident and for the moment I can not appear in public events, so I suspended [this past] Tuesday's training session for the media," Martinez said. "The person who did this is crazy. It was a person who has nothing to do with real boxing fans. I don't think this has anything to do with the fight."

Martinez realizes the entire venue will likely be filled with Mexican fans in support of Chavez. The Argentine star is looking to secure a victory by knockout in order to avoid the possibility of a bad decision.

"Julio Cesar is strong, but I'm getting ready to knock him out. I will not leave the decision up to the judges. It's true, Chavez has never been stopped or even knocked down. But Paul Williams had never been down either [until we fought] and you saw what happened," Martinez said.

"When you have a title bout for a championship as important as the WBC, one has to go in there with everything and risk their lives. It's a special day for Mexico. I'm aware that the environment will be favorable to Chavez, but I'm going to win."
