Heavyweight contender Sergey Kuzmin is more than willing to grant a rematch to amateur foe Joe Joyce.

In the amateurs, Kuzmin stopped Joyce in only 32-seconds.

Since the contest, Joyce captured an Olympic silver medal in the 2016 games and is now a rising heavyweight who is close to a world title opportunity.

Joyce, who is known for having a solid chin, recently picked up his biggest career victory when he stopped undefeated Daniel Dubois in ten rounds.

Kuzmin collided with Joyce at the 2013 European Championships.

During the bout, Kuzmin dropped Joyce twice and got the stoppage in 32-seconds.

"It happened very quickly and it was not a very long fight. It's hard to describe all that came through my head because I didn't get to see much of what he brought into the fight," Kuzmin told Sky Sports.

"This was the super-heavyweight division and each and every punch matters. I delivered a very good punch accurately and with good timing and it ended the fight.

"If the fight happens [in the ring] we will see. It would not make any sense to compare one fight to another and amateur and professional boxing. But hopefully we will meet one day in the ring and we will see, I am very interested in fighting Joyce in the future in the pros."

Kuzmin returns to the ring on Saturday night, when he faces Martin Bakole on the Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev undercard at the SSE Arena in Wembley.

The contest is a crossroads bout between two contenders who are looking to move up the heavyweight ladder in 2021, with a world title shot being the goal for both.

"I am always very excited to fight in the UK and to show the British fans a fight to remember! I know that [Bakole] is a well skilled fighter, can take a punch, can box and fight, but can't wait until fight night to see what he is made of in the ring," Kuzmin said.
