Moscow, Russia - Brazilian heavyweight import Igor Adiel Macedo da Silva was just two seconds away from going the ten round distance with comebacking Russian heavyweight Sergey Kuzmin, when a big right hand dropped him down for the count, in a fight he was losing regardless.

Kuzmin (now 16-2, 12 KOs) was coming off back-to-back losses to Michael Hunter and Martin Bakole, while the Brazilian heavyweight champion was fighting for the first time out of his native land.

Adiel was very passive in the opening rounds. He didn't use his height advantage to a max, being content just to stick his lazy jab into Kuzmin's face and immediately retreating to the safe distance. Kuzmin was getting quite passively as well but his jab to the body helped him to corner Igor at times. The Russian fighter dominated the first half and also opened a cut over Adiel's left eye.

In the sixth, Kuzmin got even more dangerous, finally dropping the Brazilian. It looked like the end was near but the Brazilian had not only survived but also came back with vengeance later on. He also troubled Kuzmin in the seventh, while rounds eight and nine were in Kuzmin's favor, as well as the last stanza. The Brazilian is now 10-1, with 10 KOs.

Gadzhi "The Machine Gun" Navruzov debuted as a pro with a very spirited and a very hard-fought majority decision over twenty-three year veteran Evgueny "The Molecule from Hell" Orlov (17-17-1, 13 KOs) in a scheduled four-rounder. The Machine Gun started very fast, throwing multiple combinations against a slow but a very big (6'10'') opponent. However, very muscular Navruzov, a former kickboxer, rapidly ran out of gas. Pudgy, soft but very experienced Orlov slowly got the control over the fight, landing at a specifically high rate in rounds three and four. Clearly drained, Navruzov showed steel character by getting it to the final bell despite zero stamina at the end. Scores were: 40-36, 39-37 and 38-38.

In a fan-friendly six-round slugfest, heavyweight debutant Pavel Shulskiy (1-0) was very lucky to escape with a controversial split decision against the Swiss-based Kenyan Collins Omondi Ojal (6-2, 4 KOs), overcoming two hard knockdowns in the process.

Shulskiy was better in the opening three rounds, outboxing the Kenyan. In the wild fourth, Shulskiy stunned Ojal at the corner, forcing a standing eight from the referee. However, Ojal immediately responded with a huge right cross, dropping Shulskiy very hard. The fight was different after that. The Russian barely survived through the fourth and was dominated in the fifth and in the sixth, being dropped during the ultimate round. Final scores were: 57-56, 56-57 and 56-55 - for Shulskiy.

Update: It was later revealed by ex-WBC cruiserweight champion Gridgory Drozd, who served as a promoter of the show, that an error was found in one of the official scorecards, resulting in a fight being declared a draw. Thus, Shulskiy is now 0-0-1, while Ojal is 6-1-1, 4 KOs.
