IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby (23-1) was in attendance for Leo Santa Cruz's majority decision victory over Carl Frampton in their highly anticipated rematch this past Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Frampton defeated Santa Cruz by majority decision in their first fight last July, and that fight took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Selby was supposed to face Jonathan Barros on the undercard but the fight was canceled when Barros failed a physical. Barros disputes claims that he tested positive for Hepatitis C and may end up filing a lawsuit.

Selby agreed with the decision going in Santa Cruz's favor in the rematch but also said that he would have been okay with a draw.

"I thought it was a great fight. Similar to the first one. Leo just edged it. It was an excellent display by both fighters. I wouldn't have minded if it was draw. Santa Cruz might have just nipped it. He was boxing nice and finishing exchanges nice, getting in the last shots. That might have edged it for him," said the Welshman who feels Santa Cruz used the same strategy that he previously used to defeat WBA featherweight champion Abner Mares in their 2015 fight.

"He was on the back foot boxing. Similar to the type of tactics he used versus Abner Mares. Mares and Frampton are similar fighters. It worked."

There has been talk of Santa Cruz and Frampton facing each other for a third consecutive time but Selby, who has already said that he would have no issues facing Frampton in Belfast, believes they should take an interim fight in between.

Frampton, who is from Northern Ireland, is on record saying that whoever he fights next, he wants it to be a homecoming fight in Belfast.

"I think they need a fight in between. They can't really go back to that fight. I don't believe there has been a trilogy back to back to back for a world title so they should split them up. I could be the guy to split them up," Selby told BoxingScene.com.
