Santos Benavides (23-3, 17KOs) will get a second chance at redemption on January 20th, when he faces Emmanuel Tagoe (18-1, 8KOs) for the IBF Inter-Continental super featherweight title in Accra, Ghana. Benavides lost, by twelve round decision, last November to unbeaten Bryan Vasquez in a bout for the interim-WBA title at 130-pounds.

Benavides said - "I have no excuses for my loss against Vazquez, but the Panamanian [trainer] Rigoberto Garibaldi Jr, instead of helping me he confused me - because he wanted me to learn how to box and we all know that I'm a puncher. But hey, that's part of the past and now I'm working hard to win a fight in Ghana."

Tagoe lost his pro debut in 2004, but the Ghanian boxer has been unbeaten since.
