Staples Center, Los Angeles, California - Lightweight banger Alejandro Luna (19-0, 14KOs) blasted out Sergio Lopez (18-10-1, 12KOs) in four rounds. Lopez was game but once Luna pinned him in the corner and unloaded with at least twenty hard shot, the referee jumped in to wave the fight off.

Middleweight prospect Brian Castano (13-0, 9KOs) won by way of a fourth round disqualification when Jonathan Batista (14-7, KOs) was warned five times for repeated low blows.

Middleweight prospect Alan Castano (9-0, 6KOs) stopped Thomas Howard (8-5, 4KOs) in four rounds.

Welterweight Anthony Flores (9-0, 5KOs) had a tougher time than he expected in winning a six round majority decision over Curtis Morton (3-5-3). The scores were 58-56 twice and 57-57.

Middleweight contender Paul Mendez (20-2-2, 10KOs) overwhelmed and stopped Andrik Saralegui (19-3, 15KOs) in two rounds. Saralegui was dropped in the second and was unable to come out for the third.

In an early upset, Antonio Santa Cruz (the younger brother of Leo Santa Cruz), made his professional debut and lost a four round majority decision to Isiah Najera (1-1). The scores were 39-37 twice for Najera and 38-38. Santa Cruz started fast, threw the better shots, but seemed tired by the midway point.

The first bout of the evening, saw bantamweight prospect Jose Gomez (3-0) handed out a four round beating to win a unanimous decision over Manuel Rubalcava (2-14), who continues his skid of defeats. All three judges had it 40-36.
