Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBO, WBO, WBA and WBC middleweight world champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs), says his fighter will eventually move up in weight to pursue more titles and bigger fights.

Unable to secure any meaningful fights at the middleweight limit of 160-pounds, Golovkin will defend his titles against IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, who moves up two full divisions to take the fight.

Golovkin vs. Brook is scheduled for September 10th at the O2 Arena in London.

Golovkin wants to achieve his dream of unifying the entire division and one more title remains, the WBO championship held by Billy Joe Saunders. Once he claims the WBO belt, Golovkin will consider a move to the super middleweight division.

One possible fight being discussed for next year, at 168, is a title fight with WBO world champion Gilberto Ramirez.

"This fight with Brook represents a time when fighters like to be tested - like Lupe Pintor or Roy Jones, when champions moved up to bigger weights to conquer other titles. One of these days Golovkin will climb up to 168 pounds, maybe 175," Golovkin said.

"We will see as a team if Golovkin can head up to 168. Ramirez is very tall, he has longer arms, he is very strong, he is a good boxer. These are the types of things that a boxer has to do in order to be great, to be a great champion. He has to take those types of challenges to establish his legacy. There are these great champions who done great things and people are still talking about them today. In the future, I want people to talk about Golovkin in the same way."
