Pro Boxing Team Finland and Probellum join forces for a show in Vantaa, Finland, on Saturday night (February 5). It's the first professional boxing event in Finland in 2022.

The main event features Finland vs Sweden as cruiserweight Samuli Karkkainen (14-1) takes on reigning Swedish champ Samo Jangirov (7-2-1). Both men are full of confidence and promise an early ending.

Karkkainen outscored Jangirov back in 2019 but while the numbers in Karkkainen's favor was clear it was a close fight with the short, stocky hard punching Swede forcing the action. Jangirov has since defended the national title twice and stepped up to heavyweight last time out and beat Awadh Tamim. He was also all set to fight in Norway late December but the whole event was canceled due to Covid-19.

"I sparred with the likes of semi-retired pro Erik Skoglund as well as top class amateur Agit Bilge and I'm in top shape. I know I have to win inside the distance to be declared the winner and I will do so," Karkkainen said.

"I will let Samo Jangirov run his mouth before the fight if that makes him happy. But he should remember that he must be able to hit me before thinking about knocking me out."

The undercard features heavyweight KO-artist Mika Mielonen, light heavyweight Janne Rantanen welterweight Amin Nuri and Finland's most experienced pro, Timo Laine, who fights at either super middle or light heavy.

The event is streamed live for free through probellum.com/event/karkkainen-vs-Jangirov and begins at 18.00 Finnish time. There are only 50 people allowed inside the arena due to corona restrictions.
