Jarvenpaa, Finland - Pro Boxing Team Finland promoted the first professional boxing show ever in this small town just outside of Helsinki with local hero Samuli Karkkainen (16-1) topping the bill.

Karkkainen outscored tough Swedish brawler Samo Jangirov (8-4-2) on scores of 99-91, 97-93 and a surprisingly close 96-95 in a good fight where Karkkainen, a southpaw, boxed well on the outside while the short, stocky Swede tried to work his way inside but usually came up short eating another jab from the Finn. In the ninth Jangirov caught his opponent with a solid right hook but Karkkainen took it well.

Welterweight Amin Nuri, a southpaw (4-1) looked sharp in the first four rounds against Dane Frank Madsen (7-3) but tired in the last four and Madsen came on strong. Nuri was the much better boxer though and was able to box his way out of trouble. It was scored 79-73 twice and 78-74 for Nuri but it looked a little too wide.

Super middleweight Ivan Perala (3-0) impressed in stopping Hungarian Zoltan Lepsenyi (2-10) in the very first round of a scheduled four round. Lepsenyi was out fast but Perala took him apart with a left-right combination followed by a right and the Hungarian went down, got up but it was stopped by the referee.

Debutant Anton Embulaev, trained by former EBU champ Amin Asikainen, outscored Attila Tibo Nagy (11-42-1) over four. It was scored 40-36 on all cards.

Heavyweight Mika Mielonen (5-0) stopped Estonian Anton Sjomkin (14-17-1) in the second round. Sjomkin was floored in the first as well and looked every bit like a fighter at the end of a long career.

In the show opener Janne Rantanen (7-3) won a majority decision over Marko Mononen (7-4) in an all-Finish matchup made at super middleweight. It was a good fight with Rantanen the stronger man and he won on scores of 40-36 and 39-37 while the third judge had it too close at 38-38.
