Shamir Petrosyan of Shamo Boxing continued his boxing activities in Moscow, Russia, having staged another lengthy tourney tonight at the Korston Hotel. There were thirteen fights in the card; six of them have been aired live by Boets TV channel.

Unfortunately, the main event, a warm-up fight featuring red-hot cruiserweight contender Maxim Vlasov (38-2, 21 KOs), who is rated #4 by the WBO, #8 by the WBA, #9 by the IBF and #11 by the WBC, was cancelled yesterday, when Vlasov’s opponent Benky Mwakalebela was ruled out of the fight on health issues.

In what really was a new main event, two previously undefeated boxers collided for a vacant WBC CIS and Slovenian Boxing Bureau lightweight title.

Azerbaijan native Elnur Samedov (6-0, 1 KOs) came out a winner, decisioning Dmitry Khasiev (6-1-2, 1 KOs) unanimously over twelve rounds. The fight was close but Samedov was a bit more active to edge Khasiev on all the judges’ scorecards. BoxingScene had it 116-112 – for Samedov as well.

Fighting for the second time in over a year after a lengthy, six-year long lay-off, light heavyweight Salambek Baysangurov (8-0, 4 KOs), a younger brother of former WBO light middleweight champion, pressed the action against experienced veteran Konstantin Piternov (20-13, 10 KOs) all eight rounds. Piternov was tricky and slippery enough to avoid real danger, frustrate his opponent and fire some hard shots back. Still it was more active Baysangurov, who got a unanimous decision over eight rounds.

Rapidly rising Kazakh female super featherweight Firuza Sharipova, considered by many to be the sweetest of Kazakh sport, continued her winning streak by stopping hapless journeyman Olga Zabavina in the midst of the third round. Sharipova is now 5-1, 3 KOs, with three wins in three months, while Zabavina gets down to 0-7.

Hard-nosed super middleweight journeyman Ruslan “Tyson” Semenov (5-34-1, 3 KOs) was handed another bitter loss by recent debutant Edmond Sargatyan (1-0-1, 1 KO). Sargatyan, a much bigger of the two, has methodically broken Semenov down until Ruslan’s corner threw in a towel at 1:40 of the fifth.

Semenov suffered his ninth consecutive loss since a couple of upset wins in 2013.

Kazakh light welterweight Victor Kotochigov stopped inexperienced Maxim Rybchenko (0-1) in two rounds. Kotochigov is now 3-0, 2 KOs. Six years from his first win in Germany, featherweight Sergey Dudinskiy (2-0, 2 KOs) came back with yet another first-round kayo, stopping debutant Muxritdin Abdullayev (0-1).
