According to reports in Germany, Australian fighter Sam Soliman (43-11, 17KOs)) has tested positive for a banned substance in the aftermath of his February 1st upset decision victory over Felix Sturm (37-4-2, 16KOs). Thomas Puetz, President of the German Boxing Federation, said Soliman was postive for a "designer drug that has a stimulating effect. Sam Soliman now has the opportunity for a hearing."

Sturm stated to reporters "I was harassed before the fight with several blood tests and then he cheats himself, just sad!"

Puetz will now contact the IBF and advise them of the positive test. Sturm-Soliman was a final IBF eliminator. Soliman's "A" sample has tested positive so far. He has the option of having the "B" sample tested. If the "B" sample tests positive, Soliman will get a suspension and a fine, and his win over Sturm will be changed to a no-contest.
