On Friday, No Limit had their final event of the year at The Star in Sydney, with super bantamweight contender Sam Goodman (17-0, 7 KOs) picking up his fourth victory of the year.

Goodman won a tough lopsided twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Zhong Liu.

“What a puzzle he was to figure out... he was very tricky to pin down,” Goodman said. “He was very awkward. I think people are sort of overlooking him, I certainly wasn’t. I pressed the fight, I went forward, I landed the cleaner shots and I tried to win the fight.

Goodman is the number one contender under the WBO and IBF. That position would place him in line for a crack at the winner of the undisputed fight between Naoya Inoue and Marlon Tapales, which takes place later this month.

“A win is a win. I’m happy with it. It’s been a big year, four fights, world titles, line them up. By the end of next year I want to be a world champion," Goodman said.

“I want to win multiple world titles and put myself up there as one of the best this country has ever produced."

In the co-feature, super featherweight contender Liam Wilson outlasted Jackson England in a domestic war to win a ten round unanimous decision.

Despite appearing at times to be out on his feet, England refused to get stopped and would rally back to stay in the fight.

The scores were 96-94, 96-94 and 97-93.

“It was exactly what I expected, Jackson is a tough customer,” Wilson said.

In an upset, Ibrahim Balla (16-2) picked up a ten round majority decision over previously undefeated Youssef Dib (20-1). to hand him the first defeat of his pro career.

The scores were 95-95, 97-93 and 100-90.
