While basking in the glow of all the plaudits he received for his effort this past weekend against WBC super featherweight titlist, Francisco Vargas - which ended in a draw - Orlando Salido was a bit peeved at this story that appeared on BoxingScene.com a few days ago.

In this piece, Oscar De La Hoya, the head of Golden Boy Promotions, stated that while he believes a rematch will occur between the two hard-nosed Mexicans, it may not be immediate.

"I saw this story, it was just brought to my attention and I don't want to get put into a situation like 'Triple G' (Gennady Golovkin) and 'Canelo' (Saul Alvarez) where they say one thing and then run from the fight,"said Salido on Wednesday. "At the end of the day, let's do it again, I'm ready to do it in November."

Sean Gibbons who advises Salido added,"The fight was so great and the demand is for each other and that's where the real money is and a guy like Vargas can get banged up by anybody."

Gibbons cites the examples of other memorable fights series like Israel Vazquez-Rafael Marquez and Arturo Gatti-Mikey Ward where they fought three consecutive fights during those memorable series.

Salido will be in New York this weekend and will be in attendance as Vasyl Lomachenko challenges WBO 130-pound belt-holder Rocky Martinez at the Theater in Madison Square Garden.

"Early in the week he was a little sore, wasn't feeling it,"explained Gibbons."He called me yesterday, he really appreciated the gesture of Lomachenko being at the fight and to come to wish him well. Lomachenko told me he had Salido winning seven-to-five (in rounds) and Orlando wants to go to see Rocky Martinez and he may got call the police because we filed a police report of a stolen WBO title belt and we may call the police to come get our title back."

Gibbons is referencing the September rematch between Salido and Martinez that the overwhelming majority of observers had the Mexican winning.

"So he's going to be happy to watch Rocky Martinez fight for his belt against Lomachenko,"quipped Gibbons.

Salido has one last message for Vargas and Golden Boy - "Don't pull a Canelo-GGG. This is what real Mexicans look like. Let's give the fans what they want."
