As a preventive measure, Eye of the Tiger Management is modifying the boxing card presented at the Centre Gervais Auto in Shawinigan on July 16.

A back injury sustained during his training camp has forced Sadriddin Akhmedov (12-0, 10 KO) to withdraw from the gym for a period of 6 weeks and to withdraw from the fight against Mponda Kalunga (8-2, 3 KO).

"We are extremely disappointed to have to withdraw this promising fight where both boxers had a good training camp for this championship bout.  This is out of our control and we hope he recovers quickly so he can get back in the ring soon and show us again the extent of his talent and continue his rise to the top of his division," explained Eye of the Tiger Management President Camille Estephan.

The main event will now be the 10 round bout between Yves Ulysse jr. (19-2, 10 KO) and David Théroux (16-4, 11 KO) for the NABF Super Lightweight title.

And the co-feature will match Clovis Drolet (12-1, 8 KOs) against the Gatineau native, Danyk Croteau (5-3, 3 KOs) in a duel scheduled for eight rounds.

A former military man, Croteau is known as a powerful fighter with a long reach and an aggressive boxing style that can trouble Drolet, who is coming off a convincing win over Jordan Mccue.

To start off the evening, Zachary Adu-Fleurant will make his professional debut against a more experienced opponent in Dylan Rushton (2-3-2).
