Copenhagen, Denmark - Cruiserweight Detlef Rossing, 9-0, stopped Viktor Polyakov, 13-5-1, at 1.52 of the second round. Rossing scored with a right hand-left hook combination and Polyakov went down on his back and as he got up it was stopped.

Polyakov was cut seconds into the fight but showed a good left hook and appeared to stun his opponent with a left upercut early in the second.

Polyakov have the bulk of his long career at super middle or light heavy and Rossing had a big advantage in size and he made the most of it.

Super lightweight Enock Poulsen, 8-0, won a unanimous decision over Frenchman Renald "Le Lion" Garrido, a misleading 22-21-2, over eight.

All three judges had it 78-74 for the Dane and he deserved the win but had to work very hard for it. Fact is, everyone that is in against the ever agressive "Le Lion" have to fight very hard - Garrido is right in his opponents face in every round and keeps coming. Poulsen´s better boxing skills and punching power got him through but he looked very tired in the seventh and danced away in the eighth sensing the win was in the bag and it was.

Light heavy Jeppe Morell, 9-2, outscored Argentinean veteran Ruben Eduardo Acosta, 36-17-5, over eight. It was scored 79-72 twice and 80-73. Acosta was down in the third but it looked more like an off balance thing.

Still Morell, a southpaw dominated the action scoring with solid right-left combinations. The 40-year old Acosta have been in with some of the best in Europe and South America and while probably past his best he is still a capable opponent so this was a good win for the Dane.

Female featherweight Sarah Mahfoud, 6-0, stopped Vanessa Caballeros, 1-4-1, in the fourth. Cabelleros was down in the third and again in the fourth and took a beating along the ropes when it was stopped. Caballeros accepted the fight against Mahfoud yesterday and came to Copenhagen ten hours ago as a substitute for Stephanie Ducastel.

Super welter prospect Oliver Meng, 3-0, stopped Latvian Valentins Kotosovs, 2-2, 2.57 of the fourth of a scheduled six rounder. The 18-year old Kotosovs looked fragile but proved to be tough and took all Meng, a southpaw, could dish out. But there was one problem:

Kotosovs kept losing his mouthpiece and the third time he did it he had a point deducted. Later in the fourth Meng hurt his opponent for real with a solid right-left combination. Kotosovs wobbled and as Meng followed up the Latvian again lost his mouthpiece and it was stopped.

There were tough debuts for Diana Nadim and Allan Mahfoud in the opening bouts of this edition of Danish Fight Night. Nadim got a split draw with much more experienced Hungarian lady Gabriella Mezei, 9-15-4, in a featherweight contest.

Mahfoud fought a war with Georgian Beka Murjikneli, 4-4, in a super welterweight fight scheduled for four. Murjikneli gave his all and came close to an upset but punched himself out and Mahfoud, more controlled and better schooled, took over and had his opponent hurt in the third and finally at 1.32 of the fourth the referee had seen enough and stopped it.
