The WBA's champion at 108 pounds, Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (30-0, 25KOs) has remained heavily involved in his preparation for the next defense of his crown. He doesn't care where, or who, he just wants to fight and fight soon. Last year Gonzalez fought three times and even made his United States debut with a fight in Las Vegas. Gonzalez, who returns in late January or a date in February, hopes Giovani Segura returns to 108 after getting knocked out by Biran Viloria at 112.

"I'm working hard because I want to have four or five defenses of the title and against higher caliber opponents. I have shown that I have the ability to beat anyone," said Gonzalez. "I hope that this year I could unify and if the Mexican Giovani Segura decides to to dropd down to 108 pounds, I hope to find out which of us is better.
