The flyweight world champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Nicaraguan Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, will defend his on Saturday, July 16, at Plaza de Toros in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. He meets Mexican challenger Omar Salado.  "I am highly motivated and confident to defend my world title," said Roman Gonzalez to BoxingScene.com/NotiFight.com. "This time, the process of losing weight has been more comfortable, since I have not had to limit myself with food."

24 years old and in his second reign as champion, Gonzalez has beaten several Mexican opponents, including Francisco "La Chiquita" Rosas and Vicente Hernandez.

"I want to give myself a gift with a victory since July 16 is my birthday (same day of the fight). I want to give that gift to all of the people of Nicaragua. "

Gonzalez training for 15 days in Mexico City, where he sparring with former world champion Edgar Sosa and Edgar 'Power' Jimenez.
