Two-division world champion (105 and 108 pounds), Nicaraguan Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (39-0, 33 KOs), reimposed his ability to cause destruction on Sunday in Japan, when he beat down Juan Purisima (11-5-1, 4 KOs) for a third round TKO.

"I was prepared to get a knockout. I said before the fight that I would goa nd win as quickly as possible, so I put my hard punches on him," Roman said.

Later in the show, WBC flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi (20-3, 1-KOs) retained his title with a ninth round TKO of Odilon Zaleta.

After the match, Gonzalez climbed into the ring to congratulate the champion and to further generate interest for a future meeting between the two.

"My interest is to fight for a world title against Yaegashi. I think it's exciting to know that I will have the opportunity to reach the accomplishment of a Nicaraguan like Alexis Arguello, who was a three-time champion in different divisions," said Chocolatito.

Roman and Yaegsahi could trade punches on a date in August.

The Japanese champion asked his local fans if they wanted to see a fight between him and Gonzalez.

"Would you like a fight between Roman and I?", To which the audience immediately responded with waoo!'

"I'll be ready for a demanding strong fight and I know it will not be easy to beat Gonzalez."
