Two unbeaten fighters kept their records intact and thus went one step closer to a desired world championship fight this past Saturday in a card put together by German Titov’s RCC Boxing Promotions in Lyubertsy, Russia.

First stepped into the ring bantamweight prospect Narek Abgaryan, who took on Mexican veteran Efrain Perez in a scheduled eight-round bout.

The Armenian Abgaryan (11-0, 5 KOs), who currently holds the WBC International Silver title that also nets him a No. 21 position by the World Boxing Council at 118 pounds, took control of the bout right after the first bell, using his footwork and put his punches together in effective combinations.

Despite the clear lead on the scorecards, Abgaryan never stepped back. Instead, he increased the pace and dropped the durable Perez (19-11, 14 KOs) with a left hook in round seven. The Mexican rose up and kept fighting that made the spectators roaring even louder.

After the final bell, all three judges gave the verdict of 80-71 to the Armenian pugilist who improved his winning streak to eleven during his two-year run in the pro game.

Abgaryan, who has the nickname of the ‘Dancing Killer’, stated after the fight he is ready to step up in competition and challenge the top guys in the bantamweight division that is getting more and more limelight thanks to the ongoing World Boxing Super Series.

WBO No. 1 lightweight contender Roman Andreev also remained undefeated after taking out journeyman Evgeny Vazem (8-6, 3 KOs) in three quick frames.

This time, Andreev (22-0, 16 KOs) did not put his WBO European title on the line, a belt the Russian boxer won with a ninth-round destruction of Craig Evans this past February in Russia.

The unbeaten Andreev is now waiting for the big unification bout between P4P shortlisted and WBA/Ring lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko and WBO belt holder Jose Pedraza scheduled in December to see how that matchup will play out and thus who could be the Russian’s opponent in his mandatory shot at the lightweight throne.

Pavel Malikov successfully returned after his eight-round TKO loss by the hands of Daud Yordan back in April. Malikov (14-1, 6 KOs) shot off Filipino Ernie Sanchez (19-13-1, 10 KOs) in two frames to get back to the win column in the lightweight division.

Once welterweight contender Dmitry Mikhaylenko (23-4, 10 KOs) was not that lucky and lost his fourth bout out of his last six fights. The 32-year-old Russian fighter came up short against Ukrainian-born Oleksandr Ivanov (16-4, 8 KOs) in ten rounds. Scores were 100-91, 98-92, and 96-94, all for Ivanov.
