The 140-pound division is one of the deepest and most competitive in boxing.

Lindolfo Delgado hopes to be added to the mix.

Delgado will face Luis Hernandez Ramos tonight at the Tahoe Blue Event Center in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The eight-round bout will be part of the Top Rank card that will stream live on ESPN+ (6 p.m. ET/ 3 p.m. PT).

The 28-year-old Delgado (18-0, 13 knockouts), who resides in Monterrey, Mexico, last fought on August 12, defeating Jair Valtierra by unanimous decision. In his previous fight on February 3, Delgado dropped Clarence Booth once en route to a unanimous decision win.

Prior to turning pro in April 2017, Lindolfo represented Mexico at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Lindolfo fought under the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) banner before signing a promotional deal with Top Rank in March 2021.

Delgado has been trained for the last several years by Robert Garcia. Delgado has developed his skill-set by sparring with the likes of Jose Ramirez, Mikey Garcia, and others at the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy in Riverside, California.

Garcia believes Delgado has yet to hit his peak as a fighter, but when he does, Delgado will be a force to be reckoned with at 140 pounds.

“Lindolfo Delgado has all the tools to become a great Mexican champion,” Garcia told BoxingScene Friday afternoon. “He can punch, (and) he can box very well.

“A couple (of) more fights and he can be mentioned amongst the best junior welterweights in the world.”

Hernandez (23-3, 20 KOs), who resides in Chihuahua, Mexico, defeated journeyman Carlos Reyes by unanimous decision in his last bout on April 22. In his previous fight on September 29 of last year, Hernandez lost by majority decision to unbeaten Quinton Randall.

The 27-year-old has lost three of his last five bouts.

In the main event of the Top Rank card, heavyweight Efe Ajagba (18-1, 13 KOs) of Nigeria will square off against Australia’s Joe Goodall (10-1-1, 9 KO) in a 10-round. In the co-feature, unbeaten lightweight Raymond Muratalla (18-0, 15 KOs) will face hard-hitting Diego Torres (18-0, 17 KOs) in a 10-round bout.
