Glen Johnson once again demonstrated why he is considered one of the best light heavyweights around by beating the tough Richard Hall in an exciting 12 round bout at the Seminole Hard Rock LIVE Arena in Hollywood, Florida. Johnson would win most of those rounds, but would have to battle the game Richard Hall to do so. The judges saw the fight 118-109, 119-108, 119-107 all for Johnson.

Alter the bout Hall asked Johnson for a rematch, but The Road Warrior, as Johnson is known, will be moving on to more lucrative matches. With the victory Johsnon improves to 44-10-2, with 29 KOs and picked up the IBA Light heavyweight title.

Joel Casamayor (32-3-1, 20 KOs) showed he still one of the best lightweights around by stopping Antonio Ramirez (24-11-6, 17 KOs) in the fifth round. It was an entertaining match while it lasted, but Casamayor was just too much for Ramirez was just outclassed in every way. Casamayor is now seeking a shot at WBA champion Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz.

Ricky Quiles (39-6-3, 8 KOs) had a tougher then expected bout against Jeremy Yelton (17-5, 8 KOs), but would still come away with a unanimous decision by scores of 74, 79-73, 77-75. The crowd booed as the result was announced as many people felt Yelton should have been awarded the victory. Quiles now looks forward to a title fight for the IBF lightweight belt as he is ranked number 1 by that organization.

In other results Heavyweight Billy Zumbrun (19-6-1, 11 KOs) scored a four round TKO over Stacy Frazier (14-5, 13 KOs) in the fourth round.

Sammy Retta of Colombia (18-2, 17 KOs) put away Antoine Barrett (13-8-1, 7 KOs) in the second round.

Samuel Miller also of Colombia improved to 14-0 with 13 knockouts by disposing of Eduardo Carrion of Rio Piedras Puerto Rico. Miller would land the heavier shots from the opening bell and would drop Carrion in the first round. Miller would continue to punish Carrion in the second round causing the Puerto Rican to take a knee and decide he would be better off not continuing. Samuel Miller is another hard hitting prospect from Colombia to keep an eye out for.

In the opening bout Juan Carlos Lamberti and Julio Jean would engage an exciting slugfest to delight of the fans at hand. Lamberti of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico would prove to be too much for Jean, however, and would come away with a 2nd round TKO victory to improve to 5-0.
