Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has arrived in the Philippines to begin training eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao for the final fight of his professional career.

Pacquiao returns to the ring on April 9th when he faces Timothy Bradley in a trilogy bout from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The Filipino superstar insists that his upcoming ring appearance will be his last as a pro fighter. Pacquiao is running for a senate seat in the Philippines and wants to expand his career in politics to a full-time basis. Pacquiao is currently a congressman and has enough time to stage one or two fights per year. If he becomes a senator, that window of time will be extremely limited.

According to Roach, Pacquiao is still very adamant that he got robbed on the scorecards last May when he faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the 'Fight of The Century.'

Mayweather won a twelve round unanimous decision and there very little controversy, if any, over the scoring.

Roach disagrees with his fighter's position. After the fight was over, Roach felt Pacquiao did not do enough to clinch a decision win.

"Pacquiao thinks he won the fight and a lot of people told me we won the fight at the airport the next day. A tremendous amount of people told me that we got robbed in that fight, black, white, no one was prejudiced about it, all races told me that Pacquiao won the fight. In my own mind I didn’t think he won the fight, but I didn’t re-watch the fight because I was too disappointed in Manny’s performance," Roach told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.

Roach still hopes a rematch can happen one day, but understands that it's very, very unlikely to happen with Mayweather's retirement from boxing last September and Pacquiao planning to retire in April.

"The shoulder became a problem and he didn’t fight the fight that I think he can fight and I think he can fight a much better fight. I’m hoping a rematch happens, but one guy is retired already and one says this is his last fight, but we’ll see. At this point, I really can’t look forward to it because there’s not enough there to put the fight together again," Roach said.
