Trainer Freddie Roach admits he is completely stumped when it comes to creating a fight strategy to defeat Juan Manuel Marquez on December 8th at the MGM Grand.

Roach has trained Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38KOs) for all three of the previous fights against Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs). Roach is confident that he knows how to overcome Marquez, but Pacquiao has not been able to execute the strategy in the ring.

"He's very difficult to deal with. A very difficult style to get ready for. I've had three chances to get Manny for this guy. I have a good game plan, so I thought, but like I've said the gym is the gym and the fight is the fight," Roach said.

"In the gym, Manny would not make a mistake and he would know how to fight this guy completely. He would move away from the right hand, but when Manny would get in the ring with him and the bell rings - Marquez does something that make Manny move into the right hand. He's had success with that lead right hand and those combinations behind them. I'm a little stuck. I've showed Manny in camp but it's not worked in the fight."

One thing Pacquiao is changing for this Marquez camp is his training schedule. Rather than start his camp in the Philippines, he will train for the entire duration in Los Angeles.

"We are not going to the Philippones to train for this fight. The whole camp will be in LA," Roach said.

Roach warned Pacquiao that he needs a very big knockout to win. This time Roach is a little paranoid about the judges feeling sorry for Marquez and scoring close rounds for the Mexican champion.

"I told Manny 'we need a big fight, we need a big knockout, we need the old Manny Pacquiao to come back. You need to hurt the guy and finish him,'" Roach said.
