Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is convinced that MMA superstar Ronda Rousey will require some extensive boxing lessons to recapture her UFC championship from Holly Holm.

Holm dominated and knocked out Rousey in two rounds last Saturday night in Melbourne at UFC 193. Holm kept the fight off the ground and used her boxing skills and movement to control the fight.

Before she made the full-time switch to MMA in 2013, Holm was a two-division world champion in boxing and has a background in kickboxing as well. She finished her boxing career with a 33-2 record with 9 knockouts.

The UFC is moving in the direction of doing an immediate rematch in the first half of 2016.

"To fight [Holm] again and beat her again, she would need to learn how to box," Roach said. "She would have to do more than wrestle and have a ground game."

"I'm the type of person that says that losing the fight sometimes makes you better. Those things happen in life. You do lose fights but what really counts is what you do after a loss. Do you lay down and die or do you come back hungry and stronger? Does she really want to learn how to box?"

"The thing is, Holly was always a boxer, but she had learned a little bit of MMA because that was a pretty good kick. And I'm sure [her kickboxing background] helped her a lot."
