Brandon Rios picked up a one-sided third round TKO of Mike Alvarado last month. They met for the third time after two memorable battles - this time in Alvarado's hometown of Denver. Alvarado had nothing to show in the fight. He barely threw any punches and took punishment until the fight was stopped after three rounds.

Alvarado's dedication was questioned after the boxer was arrested a few weeks prior to the fight, driving around at a very late hour with a firearm. After the fight, Alvarado admitted that he didn't train very seriously for the fight.

"I’m just kind of upset because of the fact that I thought he would take the fight more serious than he did, knowing that his career could be on the line and knowing that this was a do or die fight for him because he had lost his last two fights," Rios told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.

"I thought he would be on the ball more and be ready for this type of fight, especially knowing that the guy in front of him is ready and rejuvenated and ready to come back with a bang. I thought that would give him a little more motivation to put on a show, especially in his back yard, in his home town."
