Word is finally getting around regarding boxing’s newest televised boxing series.

The two most recent installments of NBC Sports Network’s Ring City USA boasted series-best ratings, along with the March 25 edition generating a record-setting audience through its Twitch livestream. The March 18 show averaged 125,000 viewers on NBC Sports Network, far among the most watched among the six events to air live since the series debuted last November according to Nielsen Media Research.

The headlining act for the series’ best performing card to date featured Tijuana’s Angel Fierro (18-1-1, 14KOs) recovering from two knockdowns to score a dramatic 6th round knockout of former 130-pound titlist Alberto Machado. The bout aired live from Albergue Olympico in Salinas, Puerto Rico.

Headlining the three-event set finale, Amanda Serrano (40-1-1, 30KOs) further established herself as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world following a 9th round stoppage of Argentina’s Daniela Bermudez (29-4-3, 10KOs). The card aired live from Plaza del Quinto Centenario in Old San Juan, with the famed El Morro historical landmark serving as the backdrop for a televised tripleheader which averaged 106,000 viewers on linear television.

The show also drew more than 13,000 unique visitors on Ring City USA’s Twitch channel which livestreamed the event. The figure serves far and away as the series’ best, in fact becoming the first Ring City card to crack 10,000 unique visitors on its Twitch channel, along with generating more than 264,000 views for the entire show through that platform.

Opening the three-show block, returning participant Brandon Adams rallied from a significant scorecard deficit to drop and stop previously unbeaten Serhii Bohachuk in the 8th round of their junior middleweight bout. The come-from-behind knockout topped the March 4 telecast from Municipal Boxing Gym Felix Pagan Pintor in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, drawing an average of 93,000 viewers during its live telecast, along with a significantly increased 133,000 viewers during a March 12 encore edition also on NBCSN.

Overall, the three shows—all of which aired live from Puerto Rico—enjoyed a 46% viewership increase from the three-show set marking the series debut beginning last November. The first three cards—Nov. 19, Dec. 3, and Dec. 17—all aired from the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California.

The series is due to return in April, though the location for the next event block has yet to be revealed.
