This Friday, former cruiserweight contender and light heavyweight challenger Rico “Suave” Hoye (23-3, 15 KOs) will return to action against Dante Craig (20-15-1, 15 KOs) in a scheduled six-round heavyweight contest at Cicero Stadium located just outside of Chicago, Illinois. “Chicago Fight Night 4” is presented by Chicago Fight Club Promotions and will feature former middleweight challenger Osumanu Adama against Doel Carrasquillo in an eight-round bout.

Hoye was last seen as a participant in season 4 of “The Contender” where he placed third overall.

Earlier in his career, Hoye started off 18-0 before earning a shot at the IBF light heavyweight title where he fell short against Clinton Woods in Yorkshire, England. Hoye’s resume also consists of victories over names such as Prince Badi Ajamu, Richard Hall and Montell Griffin.

Finally, after a four-year layoff, Hoye will make his return to the squared circle.

“I know it’s been a while since I’ve been in the ring, but I’m coming back to make a statement and make some noise,” said Hoye. ”I always wanted to fight as a heavyweight and I know I have the skills that will help me develop into a championship caliber fighter.”

“I’m definitely in shape and prepared. I don’t ever want conditioning to be a problem, so I’ll be ready physically for the fight. Once I walk down that isle and climb through the ropes, I’ll be back at home.”

Hoye may have a tough test in front of him when he faces a veteran in Craig. Since 2001, Craig has faced a variety of names including Aaron Pryor Jr, Anthony Dirrell, and Ryan Coyne. Now Craig looks to be more than just a ‘comeback’ opponent.

Hoye added, “I don’t take anyone lightly. I expect Dante Craig to bring his ‘A’ game so I’m going to bring my ‘A’ game.”

“I’m looking forward to the fight on Friday night. I’m not looking past Craig. I’m looking to make I do my business this Friday, and after that, I’ll talk to my team and we’ll go from there.”

Among other fights scheduled on the card, heavyweight Johnnie White (22-4, 18 KOs) will face Carl Davis (16-6, 12 KOs), welterweight Ahmed El Mousaoui (16-1-1, 4 KOs) clashes with Trenton Titsworth (6-16-2, 2 KOs) and Ahmad Cheikho (11-4-2, 6 KOs) will meet Angel Hernandez (14-11-1, 11 KOs) in an eight-round welterweight bout.
