Pechanga Resort & Casino, Temecula, California - A junior welterweight bout between Elvis Rodriguez (2-0) and Joaquin Chavez (9-18) ended in a first round technical draw. There was a clash of heads where Chavez's forehead opened up with a huge gash, which prompted a stoppage by the ringside doctor.

In an upset, Miguel Angel Gonzalez (25-4, 22 KOs) at one point appeared to be in trouble, but instead he scored a brutal one-punch knockout of undefeated Saul Rodriguez (23-1-1, 17 KOs) in the third round.

Rodriguez was down in rounds one and three, Gonzalez was cut around the left eye due to a head clash. During a wild exchange, Rodriguez was decked with a left hand that sent him down and out. The count was waved by the referee.

In a battle of unbeatens, super featherweight Christopher Zavala (5-0, 2 KOs) win a six round unanimous decision over Prisco Marquez (4-1-1). The scores were 60-54 across the board.

Lightweight Dmitry Yun (1-0) made his pro debut with a four round unanimous decision over Jose Antonio Meza Quinonez (6-4). All three judges saw it 39-36.

At times the action was close, but Yun was busier and more accurate, with Yun losing a point in the final round after numerous warnings for hitting behind the head and other fouls.

Middleweight prospect David Kaminsky (5-0, 2KOs) was pounding Osbaldo Gonzalez (6-5) over four rounds to pick up a four round unimous decision. All three judges were in agreement with identical scores of 40-36.
