According to Russian promotional company Patriot, Donetsk super middleweight contender Stanislav Kashtanov will collide with former two division world champion Ricardo Mayorga of Nicaragua.

Date and venue of the match has not yet been determined.

Mayorga, 43-years-old, returned to the ring last month when he snapped nearly a two-year layoff, and knocked out Mexican journeyman Jaudiel Zepeda in three rounds. It was Mayorga first bout since August of 2015 when he was knocked out by Shane Mosley.

32-year-old Kashtanova has failed in two attempts to capture world titles - with split decision losses when he tried to grasp the WBA super middleweight title and the interim-WBA light heavyweight title. With a record of 35 wins, two defeats and 21 wins by knockout, he last saw action on May 21 when he knocked out Polish fighter Tomasz Gargoyles.

Mayorga's last fight took place at the light heavyweight limit, but the boxer had expressed his desire to fight at either super middleweight or middleweight, in pursuit of another world title.

The contest against Kashtanova will be difficult, given Mayorga's inactivity from the ring. Following his ring return, he was applying a lot of pressure to secure a fight with another former world champion, Antonio Margarito, who himself returned to the sport a year ago after snapping his own lengthy layoff. Margarito has not fought since last August and he's several weight divisions below Mayorga at the moment.
