In a rematch of their March fight, "King" Rey Vargas (22-0, 19KOs) continued to move forward to an eventual world title shot as he picked up an eight round TKO victory over tough Filipino contender Sylvester Lopez (21-7-2, 16KOs) to retain the WBC Youth Silver super bantamweight crown. When they fought in March, they action was close with Vargas going down in the second and then Lopez suffering an injury and being unable to continue after seven. Vargas wanted a rematch to set the record straight.
