Welterweight contender Ray Robinson won a one-sided seven round technical decision over Breidis Prescott Friday night at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

With the win, Robinson improves to 24-2, with 12 KOs. Prescott falls to 30-11, with 22 KOs.

Prescott, who is best known for knocking out Amir Khan in 2008, has now lost four of his last five bouts.

The southpaw Robinson outboxed Prescott throughout much of the 10-round fight, even during competitive exchanges between the two. The few times the hard-hitting Prescott connected with right hands to the head, Robinson took those punches well.

The end came in round seven during an odd sequence. During an exchange, Prescott dropped to the canvas, where he remained for several moments, coughing up blood. Replays showed a punch landed to the head, but it was ruled Prescott went down from an accidental clash of heads.

Because the fight was stopped due to an accidental foul, the fight went to the scorecards. All three judges scored the bout 70-63 in favor of Robinson.

The 31-year-old Robinson, who has now won his last 13 bouts, is ranked ranked number 10 by the WBC.

Manager David McWater told Boxingscene.com Robinson will likely return to the ring in November, but will take any fight against the top fighters at 147 pounds.

"We reached out to Lamont Peterson's people, but they turned us down," said McWater. "We'll take a fight against any of the belt-holders or top contenders in a heartbeat."

Feathweweight Luis Lebron of Puerto Rico won a 10 round unanimous decision over Manuel Botti (23-1-1, with 18 KOs).

Scores were 100-90, 99-91, and 98-92 for Lebron, who improves to 9-0-1, with 4 KOs.

Junior welterweight Samuel Teah (11-1-1, with 5 KOs) stopped Ken Alvarez (8-6-2, with 3 KOs) at 1:28 of the third round.

Hard-hitting bantamweight Christian Carto (10-0, with 10 KOs) of Philadelphia remained unbeaten Friday night, stopping Juan Guzman (22-8, with 12 KOs) at 2:30 of the opening round.

Lightweight Brandon Pizarro of Philadelphia knocked out Angel Hernandez (2-4, with 1 KO) at 26 seconds of the sixth round. Pizarro, who is only 17 years of age, improves to 6-0, with 3 KOs.

Featherweight Jose Gonzalez won a six round split decision over Guadalupe Arroyo (2-5, 1 KO). One judge scored the bout 58-56 for Arroyo, while the other two judges scored the bout 59-55 and 58-56 for Gonzalez, who goes to 8-0-1, with 2 KOs.

Bantamweight Ariel Lopez (7-0, with 5 KOs) won a six round split decision over Charles Clark. One judge scored the bout 57-56 for Clark (1-3-1, with 1 KO, while the other two judges scored the bout 58-55 and 57-56 for the 21-year-old Lopez.
