Edingburg, Texas - "Rumble at The Park was a sensation. Starting with the first bout was Miguel Pizarro vs. Gerard Alvarado. Pizarro outboxed his opponent, connecting with an amazing number of combinations and fury of body-head punches, and knocking him down in the very first round. Pizarro won a four round unanimous decision, with scores of 39-36, 40-35 and 40-35.

Felix Piedra weighed in at 184, which was 4 pounds over the limit and caused him get fined between $250.00-$500.00. Piedra won a four round unanimous decision.

Oscar “El Torito” Tovar vs. Arturo Herrera was up third. Tovar won a four round decision with scores of 39-37. 40-36 and 40-36.

The fourth bout was between Mario “Kilo” Amador and Victor Sanchez, with both making their pro debut. Amador took a decision with scores of  40-37, 40-36, and 40-36.

The co-main event was Jerry “Chicanito” Guevara and Victor “La Cobrita” Hernandez.  Guevara showed great boxing skills by connecting  with solid rights to the jaw and stopped his foe in the second round.

 

Finally the main event of the evening, with a wild crowd of about 3,000, who cheered on Raul “El Tigre” Casarez, the current WBO Youth middleweight champion, as he stopped Eloy “El Prieto” Suarez with one minute in the eight round!
