Super bantamweight prospect Julian "El Camaron" Ramirez (14-0) returns to the ring after a six month layoff when he faces Mexican veteran Hugo Partida (21-5) on the Lucas Matthysse-Viktor Postol undercard at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.  HBO will televise the main event along with the Humberto Soto-Antonio Orozco co-feature.

Ramirez said that he has studied Partida and that he is a very tough opponent. He said that he has experience with Partida's team and knows that he is not in for an easy night.

"I saw him on Youtube.  He is a brawler.  He is a strong fighter with 21 wins and 5 losses and 15 knockouts.  He is a strong guy and I am not taking him lightly.  I fought someone from his camp before so I know they are in good shape," Ramirez explained.

Ramirez also revealed that while he sparred at the Wild Card Boxing Club, he was very impressed with the work that Viktor Postol put in. He went as far as to say that the favored Matthysse may even be upset if Postol brings his "A" game.

"I am excited (to be on the card). I've been sparring at the Wild Card and I've seen the guy that Matthysse is fighting.  I had never seen him fight until then.  I saw him spar and he looked very strong.  He is a very good boxer.  We know how good Matthysse is and I think that if Postol can take his punch he might pull the upset.  He is looking sharp.  I saw him spar tough fighters and he looked very good.  It depends if he shows up that night," said Ramirez.

Ramirez has been working with IBF inter-continental super bantamweight champion Albert Pagara, who faces William Gonzalez at the StubHub Center on October 17th. He said that he has held his own and feels that he is close to fighting for a title.

"Right now I am sparring with this Filipino champion.  I am putting in work with him and he's telling me I should already be fighting for a belt.  Hopefully next year will be the year for me," Ramirez told BoxingScene.com.
