BoxingScene.com has been advised by multiple sources that the August 4th super bantamweight showdown between former champions Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (21-2-1, 18KOs) and Rafael Marquez (41-7, 37KOs) is off. They were set to battle at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. According to the sources, Marquez suffered a hand injury while training.

The fight may be rescheduled to a later date after the extent of the injury is determined.

Former super featherweight champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez was set to square off against Miguel Beltran in the co-featured fight.

Editor's Note: The fight has been targeted for a postponed date of October 6th.
