Zanfer Promotions is interested in making an all-Mexican showdown between super bantamweight veterans Rafael Marquez (41-7-0, 37 KO's) and Cristian Mijares (46-6-2, 21 KO's) at Arena Mexico. Mijares has won ten fights in a row since the near fatal three fight losing streak between 2008 and 2009.

During the ten fight win streak, Mijares won the NABF banatamweight title, the IBF super flyweight title and the WBC International Silver super bantamweight title. Marquez, even at his advanced age, would still be one of the toughest opponents of Mijares' career.
