Junior welterweight contender Ruslan Provodnikov (22-1, 15KOs) is eager to get in the ring with WBO 140-pound champion Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs). The Mexican superstar is being considered as a potential opponent for Manny Pacquiao in the fall. If Pacquiao selects another opponent, Provodnikov has been mentioned as a possible option for Marquez's first defense of the WBO crown.

Provodnikov works with trainer Freddie Roach, who also works as the head coach for Marquez's main rival, Pacquiao.

"Before it was just a dream, now we'll see if it's possible, on the other hand I really want this fight and I will take it in a heart beat. I realize it's time to take risks, and if not now, then never," Provodnikov said.

"I believe I can win - and that's the main thing! I do not care who and what he thinks about me ... I really want to get this chance, and get a chance to fight with such a star and a legend - for me this is the ultimate dream."
