Former EBU middleweight world champion Grzegorz Proksa (28-2, 21 KOs) is going to take a long rest after Saturday's fifth round TKO defeat to IBO/WBA "regular" champ Gennady Golovkin, according to the Polish boxer's agent Krzysztof Zbarski. Proksa took a pounding in the fight and he was knocked down three times before the referee waved it off.

"He needs a rest period, he must decompress. I'm not talking about a month or two, but a break until the end of the year..... at least. Then we will build the career of Grzegorz, as we've done before," says Zbarski. "I think that he would still beat Daniel Geale and Felix Sturm, who fought a few hours earlier in Europe."
