Regis Prograis and Josh Taylor are finally ready to collide in the World Boxing Super Series finals.

All terms have been reached and previous disputes settled in getting Prograis abroad for the super lightweight title unification clash versus Scotland’s Taylor, which will take place Oct. 26 at The O2 in London, England.

“It’s now confirmed,” Comosa AG’s Kalle Sauerland told BoxingScene.com on Saturday in sharing the good news—and a sigh of relief.

The bout was previously in jeopardy after already being delayed, as Louisiana’s Prograis (24-0, 20KOs) threatened to leave the tournament and take the Comosa brass to court over breach of contract. Delayed communication and failure to honor a previous agreement to deposit purse funds and a promised win bonus in an escrow account were to serve as grounds for the filed complaint.

A response from the WBSS tournament organizers provided a much-needed open line of communication, eventually paving the way for a deal to be reached in salvaging the best matchup of a loaded fall schedule.

Scotland’s Taylor (15-0, 12KOs) has been on board all along, having grown accustomed to the drama as his semifinals bout versus previously unbeaten Ivan Baranchyk provided a similar pre-fight development. The six-month delay between the quarterfinals and semifinals uiltimately led to a terrific title fight in Glasgow, Scotland, with Taylor—a member of the 2012 Great Britain Olympic boxing team—taking a clean. 12-round decision to win his first title this past May.

The win came three weeks prior to Prograis annihilating Belarus’ Kiryl Relikh to win his first major title this past April in Lafayette, La., roughly the halfway point between his two shared hometowns of New Orleans, La. and Houston, Texas. He has since relocated to Los Angeles, Calif. to set up training camp for the forthcoming title unification clash.

Adding to the good news was the announcement of the full undercard, which will be presented by England’s leading promotional outfit Matchroom Boxing. The chief support pits former heavyweight titlist, New Zealand’s Joseph Parker (26-2, 20KOs) in his return to the United Kingdom for a scheduled 12-round crossroads clash versus England’s Dereck Chisora (31-9, 22KOs).

The bout was confirmed on Saturday, as was accompanying pre-fight random drug testing to be conducted by Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA). Two more fights were announced for the show as well, as Scotland’s former three-division titlist Ricky Burns (43-7-1, 16KOs) will face Wales’ former featherweight title claimant Lee Selby (27-2, 19KOs), while England’s Lawerence Okokie (13-0, 10KOs) squares off with Belgium’s Yves Ngabu (20-0, 14KOs).

“MONSTER SHOW,” tweeted promoter Eddie Hearn, in announcing the full card which will air live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in the United States. “Prograis-Taylor, Chisora-Parker, Burns-Selby, Ngabu-Okolie and much more coming.”

It’s all a welcomed bonus, as confirmation of the WBSS 140-pound finals moving forward was all the good news we needed.
