Olympic bronze medal winner David Price (22-4, 18 KOs) is looking to make a major statement on Saturday night.

Price will collide with Alexander Povetkin, a former world champion and Olympic gold medal winner, at Principality in Cardiff, Wales.

The contest takes place as part of the undercard to the high stakes unification between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker.

Price is hoping to upset the odds - as just about everyone has him pegged as a massive underdog in the contest.

Povetkin is the WBA's mandatory challenger to Joshua, so the Russian boxer is in line to fight the winner of the main event.

If Price could pull off the upset, he may take over in that mandatory slot. But most expect Povetkin, who only lost one career bout, to Wladimir Klitschko, to win the contest by knockout in the first six rounds.

"One thing I've never really liked to use as motivation was to prove people wrong, because I didn't think it was worth the energy of even considering doubters," Price exclusively told Sky Sports.

"But any motivation is good motivation and I would love to take my gloves off and put two fingers up to everyone who has ever written me off, and demand an apology. I've got a big task in front of me, but I'm going to give it everything."

Price realizes that Povetkin is a very dangerous opponent, but the British heavyweight believes in his power and feels that he's got enough punch to put the bettering favorite down for the count.

"Everyone is going off reputation," Price said. "Reputation is going to go out of the window on the night, because I'm not going to be scared of him.

"I'm not going to be gun-shy. I'm going in there to cause an upset and the reputation side of things doesn't bother me."

"I believe I've got the power to knock any heavyweight out," said Price. "It's just about landing the shot, and he falls into that category."
