This is the week that counts for Colorado’s Mike Alverado when he goes up against Hilario Lopez, one of Idaho’s best 147 pounders. Hilario Lopez has been on a hot streak as of late by beating some of the top prospects in the country. Some of those prospects include Julio Luna, Jose Bermejo, Vicente Garcia and a controversial loss to Dominic Chavez where Chavez was down twice in the first round.

Mike Alverado as of yet has not met the competition Lopez has met so this fight will mean a lot to Top Rank, Shelly Finkle, Delgado, Frank Acosta and the rest of Team Alverado. All of this means that the pressure is on Alverado to show them that he is the top 140 to 147 prospect that Top Rank has. This is his moment to shine this week with a very tough and strong Lopez in front of him. Alverado is also a very strong and experienced fighter with plenty of amateur fights and seven pro fights to his credit.

We know the boxing fans will be waiting for the results of this fight and Colorado fans are for sure behind their fighter Alverado with hopes of a victory and a future title holder in their home state. Alverado has been in training camp with some top trainers but the real trainer that has helped make Alverado is Shann Vilhauer as he has brought him from the Amateur ranks to the Pro ranks. Good job Shann
