Sechew Powell's adviser Greg Leon reached out to BoxingScene.com to issue a comment to a story we ran this morning in which IBF junior middleweight champion Cornelius "K9" Bundrage said that he has not yet signed a contract to face Powell who is the #1 ranked challenger by the IBF.  Bundrage had advised BoxingScene.com that he had no problem facing Powell who he must face in a mandatory defense but that he wasn't happy with the purse being offered for the fight.

Leon told BoxingScene, "It is unfortunate that Cornelius Bundrage was unable to secure a meaningful fight, or any fight, for that matter during his voluntary period as the IBF's junior middleweight champion. With that being said, if Cornelius Bundrage does not fight Sechew Powell next he will be stripped of his title. The IBF has made it crystal clear to all involved parties that his promoter Don King must send the IBF a signed contract by the close of business tomorrow or there will be a purse bid on Monday May 2, 2011."

The Bundrage-Powell title fight is supposed to take place on June 25th in St. Louis on the undercard of the HBO televised Devon Alexander-Lucas Matthysse main event.
