The team of Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin will hold a press-conference in Moscow on May 12. They promise to tell the truth about the negotiations with the IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and about their request to have the champion go through an Olympic-style drug test.

The managing Director of  Sauerland Even,t Christian Meyer, and Povetkin’s manager Wladimir Hryunov will take part in the conference, as well as the director of the Anti-doping Center, who is expert of chemical science Grigoriy Rodchenkov and the president of the Russian Boxing Federation Victor Ageev. Rodchenkov will offer his solution to the doping-control issue before a potential Klitschko-Povetkin.

“The main problem for any boxer who is going to fight Klitschko is that they are highly valued by televions, they are on a wave of success and they dictate the terms”, - said Povetkin’s trainer Teddy Atlas to BoxingScene.com. – “They choose the most convenient opponents and shape situations in their favor. The only way to have control over some issues is to have this fight in Russia”.
