Former two-time welterweight champion Shawn Porter was impressed by the recent performance from Youtube superstar Logan Paul.

Last Sunday night at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Paul went the full eight round distance in his exhibition fight with five division world champion Floyd Mayweather.

"I hope this reaches Logan Paul. You looked good [Sunday] night! You looked really in control and you look like you could do some things in this sport," Porter told TMZ.

The 26-year-old entered the ring with a single pro fight of experience - a controversial six round split decision to Youtube rival KSI.

Mayweather, 44-years-old and retired since 2017, was at least 40-pounds smaller and six inches shorter.

Paul was able to use his tremendous size advantage to keep Mayweather in place, by holding and wrestling around, when the 50-0 fighter got on the inside.

The pay-per-view event generated at least 1 million buys domestically, according to early purchase projections.

The popularity of the event was not surprising, with Mayweather's name and Paul having a combined 57 million followers across his various social media accounts.

Porter believes Paul can continue to capitalize on his audience with additional fights.

"You have a built-in audience! You can make this money fighting this completion, build yourself up and then when the time is right, you say, 'Yo I'm ready for a world championship title' and I think by then, everybody that has rocked with him to this point will continue to rock with him," Porter said.

"He'll pull fans from the boxing arena and boom, you can't be mad at dude after that! You can't be mad at the money-making after that!"

Some fighters, in boxing and MMA, are upset by Paul, and his younger brother Jake Paul, making millions from their exhibition fights.

But Porter is happy for them.

"You can't be mad at the hustle. I cannot knock the hustle. I'm happy for them dudes, I'm happy for them to get the money the way they've been getting it," Porter said.
