The flyweight champion of the World Boxing Organization, Julio Cesar "Pingo" Miranda, is shifting the date of his defense. The champion says he is going to enter "the lion's den" by defending his crown in Hawaii, against hometown hero and mandatory challenger, Brian Viloria. Miranda told reporter Dave Kaufman that a new date of July 16 was scheduled for the Viloria defense. The bout was originally set for the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.-Sebastian Zbik undercard on June 4 in Los Angeles.

"We were in negotiations and after several meetings reached a financial settlement. We have no objection about going to Hawaii. We know how difficult it is, but we hope that we can leave there with the upper hand," said Miranda's agent Rosalio Avilez.
